Expression is an important part of my
life, regardless the medium.
I go out; I
bring a camera and a handful of film. I
get an itch to paint, I paint; to draw,
I draw; to sew, I sew.
I have an
appreciation for lines, their weight
and their balance. Shapes and people
fascinate me, and in my own abstract way
I incorporate them into many of my
pieces. I enjoy the use of colors and
how they can blend together to form a
feeling about a piece regardless of the
foreground subject. Light is magical.
I have seen death
and violence, as well as birth and
humanity – they have all shaped me as an
artist and allow me to have a unique
outlook on life that reflects in my work.
My paintings mostly consist
of acrylics, spray paint, white out,
ink, markers and oil pastels. Leads,
markers and ink for drawing; film
photography preferred over digital.
Canvas, wood panels, rocks, cork,
records - I paint on anything I can get
my hands on. The end result is as varied
as the mediums used. |
